About the Role
Originate and develop gigawatt-scale energy and infrastructure projects, lead complex energy and real estate deals, develop power sourcing strategies, analyze energy markets and regulations, negotiate agreements, and coordinate interconnection, tax abatement, legal, financial, technical, and external partners.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in the energy industry, specifically in thermal asset project development, financing, and/or origination.
- Experience in power marketing and PPA negotiation for thermal resources.
- Strong understanding of thermal power generation, including heat rates, fuel logistics, dispatch economics, hedges, tolling agreements, and behind-the-meter configurations.
- Understanding of U.S. energy markets, ISO/RTO rules, nodal pricing, and regulatory environments.
- AI infrastructure, hyperscaler, or compute developer experience is preferred.
- Excellent negotiation, strategic thinking, leadership, and project management skills.
- Ability to mentor junior team members, work cross-functionally, and influence without direct authority.
- Relevant degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with CCS and ERCOT is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Site, design, and deliver power and land for energy-intensive AI compute deployments.
- Define and deploy strategic frameworks for project development.
- Develop and execute complex energy and real estate deals.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align projects with company goals and market needs.
- Analyze regulatory and policy developments affecting the energy and AI industries.
- Develop power sourcing strategies focused on thermal resources.
- Evaluate energy market dynamics, nodal pricing, and dispatch economics.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities.
- Build relationships with thermal asset owners, brokers, IPPs, and AI workload end users.
- Negotiate and structure power purchase and real estate agreements.
- Lead interconnection submissions and approvals for data center load.
- Lead property tax abatement negotiations.
- Work with legal and financial teams to ensure regulatory compliance and financial alignment.
