About the Role
You will own and drive the US business unit strategy, maintain a US-specific backlog, translate goals into concrete workstreams, and report progress to leadership. You will build regulatory and partner relationships, lead external discussions, identify growth opportunities, coordinate stakeholders across functions, and oversee operations and budgets.
Requirements
- 10+ years in financial services, with at least 5 in a leadership role in crypto, fintech, or banking.
- Deep understanding of the US regulatory environment for financial services and crypto.
- Proven track record of building and managing cross functional or distributed remote teams.
- Strong backlog management and prioritization instincts — you've run complex workstreams with multiple stakeholders and kept things moving.
- Established network in the US crypto and fintech ecosystem.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Self-starter who creates structure rather than waiting for it.
- High comfort with ambiguity, fast pace, and changing priorities.
- Challenger mindset — you question the default and push for better.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the US business unit strategy.
- Maintain a US specific backlog tied to the company wide product and business backlog.
- Translate strategic goals into concrete workstreams and follow through until delivered.
- Report regularly to leadership on progress and blockers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with US regulators, ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions regulators and key industry stakeholders.
- Lead high level external discussions with partners authorities and third parties.
- Partner with Legal and Compliance to navigate the US regulatory landscape.
- Leverage existing network and build new relationships to support expansion.
- Identify and pursue partnerships and business opportunities aligned with growth objectives.
- Represent at industry events and conferences and in media.
- Coordinate contributors across functions around shared priorities.
- Assign tasks set deadlines track delivery and intervene fast when something isn't working.
- Foster a roll up your sleeves culture where everyone stays close to the work.
- Mentor team members and help them grow within a fast moving environment.
- Oversee the operational setup of the US entity including staffing, infrastructure, tooling, and vendor relationships.
- Negotiate contracts with third party service providers and manage SLAs.
- Implement scalable processes that can grow with the business.
- Build and manage the US budget, track KPIs and provide regular performance reports.
