About the Role
You will work with our private investment fund to seek out promising early-stage startups in the longevity space to invest in and accelerate. You will build and nurture relationships with founders, scientists, VCs, family offices and investment syndicates, and travel to industry events to represent the fund and scout for interesting opportunities. You'll help manage speaking engagements for the Founder and contribute ideas toward a business model for a longevity-focused holding company centered on acquiring technologies, R&D, and startups. You should be comfortable taking on varied administrative and logistical tasks as they arise, and thrive in a fast-moving, unconventional, non-corporate environment with minimal oversight.
Requirements
- Deep personal passion for longevity and understanding of early stage startups
- Experience reaching out with results to a large number of warm leads
- Experience managing people and effective communication skills
- Ability to work in a chaotic unpredictable non-linear environment with unconventional tasks
- Self-starter able to work with minimal hand-holding
- Ability to be mobile and responsive
- At least MSc in longevity-related STEM (biology, medicine, pharmacology, biochemistry, genomics, computational biology)
- Preferable experience in early-stage or growth-stage startups or research projects that secured grants, prizes or other non-equity funding
- Extensive network within the longevity community
- Intelligent use of auxiliary AI tools
- Strong communication skills
- Perfect English required; knowledge of other major global languages a plus
- Experience working with a team in a non-corporate environment
Responsibilities
- Identify deal-flows and cultivate relationships with startups, entrepreneurial scientists, VCs, family offices, and investment syndicates in the longevity space
- Stay abreast of trends and developments in longevity and provide insights and recommendations
- Attend industry events to seek out existing startups or pre-startup research projects
- Manage speaking opportunities for the Founder at conferences and events
- Help develop a business model for a longevity-focused holding company centered on acquisitions of technologies, R&D or startups
- Handle other administrative or logistical tasks related to the fund's operations as needed
