About the Role
You will own end-to-end testing strategy for structural, mechatronic, and sensing subsystems. You will design and operate test benches, automate testing and data capture, analyze results, report engineering findings, influence design decisions, mentor test engineers, and coordinate specialized external testing.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related technical field
- At least seven years of hardware testing or validation experience
- At least three years in technical leadership or senior individual contributor roles
- Experience designing and commissioning electro-mechanical or consumer-electronics test benches
- Python proficiency for test automation, device control, and data analysis
- Knowledge of sensors, instrumentation, calibration, and error influences
- Experience developing and reviewing test plans, test cases, and qualification criteria
- Ability to work safely with common workshop tools
Responsibilities
- Define and own test strategy for structural, mechatronic, and sensing subsystems
- Establish testing standards, processes, data workflows, and reporting formats
- Make architectural decisions for test infrastructure, automation frameworks, and data pipelines
- Improve test coverage, efficiency, and predictive capability
- Design, commission, and operate mechatronics test benches
- Select, integrate, and calibrate sensors and instrumentation
- Develop automation scripts to control test hardware and log data
- Analyze test data using signal processing and statistics
- Compile test reports and derive engineering learnings
- Identify failure modes, bottlenecks, and reliability risks
- Provide data-driven input during design reviews
- Mentor test engineers
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and systems engineers
- Coordinate with external test labs and suppliers
