About the Role

You will define the software roadmap and architecture for robotic grasping technology, translate objectives into technical plans, and lead product integration. You will manage engineers, oversee testing and deployments, develop production software and tooling, monitor system performance, and resolve hardware-software integration challenges.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, robotics, automation, or a related technical field.
  • Software development experience in Python and/or C++.
  • Leadership experience overseeing employees and supporting performance, growth, and career development.
  • Experience with ROS or ROS2 and robotic software systems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives.
  • Experience with robotic manipulation, grasping technology, industrial automation, or production robotic deployments.
  • Experience with experimentation frameworks, operational metrics, performance evaluation, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, databases, data pipelines, and analytics infrastructure.
  • Experience in a startup or growth-stage technology company.
  • English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the software roadmap for robotic grasping technology.
  • Translate product objectives into technical plans, milestones, and execution strategies.
  • Identify integration risks and coordinate solutions across technical disciplines.
  • Establish software architecture, engineering standards, and best practices.
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees through performance management and mentorship.
  • Provide technical leadership for deployment, testing, validation, performance monitoring, and field activities.
  • Lead robotic technology integration into products, prototypes, and testing environments.
  • Define and develop tooling for KPIs, reliability, system performance, and failure modes.
  • Support field deployments and drive data-informed product and hardware improvements.
  • Develop robotic applications, software tools, platforms, automation frameworks, and testing systems.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain production software in Python and/or C++.
  • Diagnose and resolve robotic hardware-software integration challenges.
