About the Role

You will build, strengthen, and nurture relationships with strategic partners such as card networks, payment systems, banks, and non-banking financial institutions at Romanian and European levels. You will lead complex commercial negotiations, ensure regulatory compliance, collaborate cross-functionally on product and go-to-market strategies, and represent PayU at industry events.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in senior banking or financial institution roles focused on relationship management and business development.
  • Proven success developing strategic partnerships and negotiating complex commercial and technical agreements.
  • Deep understanding of banking, fintech, and financial-sector regulatory compliance.
  • Current network of senior contacts in financial institutions, card networks, payment systems, and fintech organizations.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate market opportunities into product requirements.
  • Excellent Romanian and English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation, leadership, influence, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture relationships with card networks, payment systems, banks, and non-banking financial institutions.
  • Lead negotiations of complex commercial agreements, including pricing and cost optimization.
  • Ensure partnerships meet KYC, AML, licensing, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with product, operations, finance, and sales teams.
  • Translate market opportunities into product requirements and support go-to-market strategies.
  • Provide market insights to accelerate product roadmap and commercialization efforts.
  • Represent PayU at banking and financial industry events.
