About the Role
You will take responsibility for the Scaling Inference Lab's delivery and growth. You will define its operating model, funding and governance, guide programme decisions, represent the programme externally and build partnerships across AI, compute infrastructure, industry, government and funding organisations.
Requirements
- Bring significant technical depth and leadership experience relevant to the Scaling Inference Lab
- Demonstrate credibility in large-scale compute, AI infrastructure, supercomputing or a related field
- Lead complex R&D programmes, projects or portfolios
- Understand the AI infrastructure stack, including models, software, networks and compute hardware
- Demonstrate stakeholder-management and governance skills
- Travel regularly across the UK and occasionally abroad
- Spend regular time at the King's Cross office
- Have or be able to obtain the right to work in the UK
- Complete required national security vetting
Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver the Scaling Inference Lab
- Set and drive the programme path to scale
- Develop the operating model, funding approach and governance arrangements
- Represent ARIA in CommonAI governance and external partnerships
- Assess delivery, progress, risks and opportunities
- Guide decisions and unblock delivery
- Build networks across academia, AI, compute infrastructure, industry, government and funders
- Develop relationships that support long-term sustainability
