About the Role
You will manage AI safety and security policy projects, develop workplans, and coordinate contributors. You will research and draft policy materials, track AI and policy developments, support technical assistance for policymakers, and help deliver workshops, briefings, policy sprints, and convenings.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in think tanks, government, academia, civil society, or industry.
- Program or project management experience.
- Familiarity with at least one AI safety or security policy area.
- Research, analysis, and writing expertise related to AI policy or technology governance.
- Ability to critically engage with technical AI work and translate it into policy implications.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive policy environment.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience coordinating complex multi-stakeholder projects, research projects, policy sprints, events, or convenings.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- No employment sponsorship requirement.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize policy windows for targeted interventions.
- Conduct research and draft policy memos, briefs, reports, and other written products.
- Track and synthesize developments in AI capabilities, safety research, and policy debates.
- Engage external experts to inform policy work.
- Coordinate technical-assistance requests from policymakers.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, coordination, and quality control.
- Develop and adjust project plans, milestones, dependencies, and timelines.
- Plan and execute workshops, briefings, policy sprints, and convenings.
- Improve internal processes, templates, and routines.
- Draft funder updates, reports, and grant-planning materials.
- Participate in meetings with policymakers, civil society organizations, and technical experts.
- Support public-facing communications and policy-development programs.
