About the Role
You will lead Medical Affairs strategy for priority clinical assets from early development through launch readiness. You will develop evidence-generation, scientific engagement, publication, congress, medical education, and communication plans; turn external insights into development recommendations; and build scalable Medical Affairs capabilities, governance, processes, and performance measures.
Requirements
- Advanced clinical or scientific degree; MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred
- 15+ years of biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience, including significant Medical Affairs leadership experience
- Experience building and leading Medical Affairs strategy for clinical-stage or launch-stage assets
- Experience in oncology, rare disease, immunology, or other specialty therapeutic areas
- Experience leading integrated evidence planning, including RWE, HEOR, epidemiology, and outcomes studies
- Understanding of drug development from early clinical development through launch readiness and lifecycle planning
- Success engaging KOLs, investigators, patient advocacy organizations, professional societies, and payers through compliant scientific exchange
- Experience developing scientific platforms, publication plans, congress strategies, advisory boards, medical education initiatives, and medical information resources
- Knowledge of compliance expectations for scientific exchange, medical review, publications, advisory boards, and healthcare-professional interactions
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead integrated Medical Affairs strategies for priority assets
- Support cross-functional asset teams with Medical Affairs expertise
- Build evidence-generation plans covering real-world evidence, HEOR, epidemiology, and outcomes studies
- Translate external stakeholder insights into recommendations for development strategy and trial design
- Lead scientific engagement with key opinion leaders, investigators, patient organizations, payers, and other stakeholders
- Lead congress and conference strategy, planning, and execution
- Partner on responsible AI-enabled approaches for medical insights and evidence synthesis
- Establish medical communication strategies, including publications, abstracts, training, and medical information content
- Design and build a scalable Medical Affairs organization
- Establish governance, vendor partnerships, performance metrics, and compliant Medical Affairs processes
