About the Role
You will establish and lead Field Engineering for federal and SLED accounts. You will manage engineers, guide government technical evaluations and proofs of concept, develop compliant deal practices, partner with Legal, Security, and Compliance, resolve complex deals, and support post-sales adoption.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience leading Field Engineers, Solutions Architects, or pre-sales teams in enterprise software
- Experience in Federal or SLED environments
- Experience navigating public sector technical evaluation processes, security authorizations, compliance reviews, and procurement-driven proofs of concept
- Technical fluency in modern software development workflows, AI tooling, and developer productivity
- Ability to partner with Sales while maintaining technical integrity and customer trust
- Experience in customer-facing, high-pressure deal environments
- Communication skills and executive presence for engaging agency technical leadership, CTOs, and compliance stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a Field Engineering team supporting Federal and SLED enterprise opportunities
- Partner with Public Sector Sales leadership and account executives on technical discovery, demos, and proofs of concept
- Establish evaluation, proof-of-concept, and technical deal-strategy practices for public sector requirements
- Serve as an escalation point for complex customer evaluations and high-stakes public sector deals
- Hire, onboard, and develop Field Engineering talent with public sector or regulated-environment experience
- Feed agency and institutional customer insights back to Product and Engineering
- Partner with Legal, Security, and Compliance on technical evaluations
- Ensure handoffs with post-sales teams support onboarding and adoption
- Maintain knowledge of the product, roadmap, competitive landscape, and public sector security and compliance landscape
