About the Role
You will serve as Legion’s chief legal officer and lead global legal, intellectual property, and corporate functions. You will advise executives and the Board, build the legal organization, oversee commercial contracting, privacy, employment, governance, IP, compliance, risk management, financings, and strategic transactions, and support international growth and AI product development.
Requirements
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
- 15+ years of law firm and in-house experience
- Significant experience as General Counsel, Chief Legal Officer, or senior deputy General Counsel at a technology or SaaS company
- Enterprise SaaS and commercial contracting experience
- Corporate governance experience
- Data privacy and security experience
- IP strategy and licensing experience
- Experience building and leading legal teams
- Business-oriented legal judgment
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the global legal strategy
- Advise the CEO, executive team, and Board on legal, regulatory, and governance matters
- Build and lead the in-house legal team
- Manage external counsel across specialties and jurisdictions
- Serve as corporate secretary and manage Board governance processes
- Oversee corporate structure and global entity compliance
- Support equity and debt financings
- Lead commercial, product, partnership, privacy, and data protection counsel
- Advise on labor, employment, and workforce compliance
- Develop and implement the global IP strategy
- Design and oversee risk and compliance frameworks
- Lead legal aspects of M&A, investments, and strategic partnerships
