About the Role

You will provide day-to-day legal and compliance advice for a consumer payments product. You will review product launches, terms, disclosures, marketing, and privacy; manage regulatory obligations; strengthen compliance controls; negotiate partner agreements; and lead licensing strategy and applications.

Requirements

  • Significant legal experience in fintech or payments with meaningful in-house experience
  • Experience advising a consumer-facing app such as a neobank, crypto wallet, or card program
  • Experience negotiating with crypto-native card issuers and ramp providers
  • Experience working with or overseeing a payments or fintech compliance function
  • Track record negotiating payments vendor and partner agreements and delivering licensing work
  • Clear writing and commercial judgment
  • Interest in or experience with stablecoins and crypto payments

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day legal and compliance counsel on terms, disclosures, marketing, privacy, and product launches
  • Map and maintain regulatory perimeters and obligations registers across served markets
  • Oversee and strengthen the compliance framework covering AML/KYC, sanctions, complaints, and regulator or law-enforcement requests
  • Negotiate and manage agreements with card issuers, ramp providers, KYC providers, and infrastructure partners
  • Lead licensing and registration strategy and applications with outside counsel and regulators
  • Build playbooks and develop the function over time
