About the Role
You will serve as the embedded compliance advisor for Square Core and Audiences product teams. You will lead compliance reviews, maintain product risk and control inventories, manage compliance program activities, support examinations, assess regulatory changes, translate requirements into controls, and report compliance metrics.
Requirements
- 8+ years of compliance experience, including payments, merchant acquiring, or commerce platform compliance
- Regulatory knowledge of AML/BSA, payment card and network rules, consumer protection, privacy, and electronic marketing and communication regulations
- Experience advising Product and Engineering teams in agile environments
- Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into controls, policies, and procedures
- Experience with risk assessments, issues management, testing, monitoring, regulatory exam support, and regulatory change management
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Experience collaborating across Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering, Design, Risk, and International teams
- Ability to use data to measure compliance program effectiveness
Responsibilities
- Advise Square product teams on compliance requirements for products, features, and market expansions
- Lead compliance reviews for launches and feature changes
- Maintain the compliance risk and control inventory and conduct risk assessments
- Drive issues management, testing, monitoring, policy development, and complaints management
- Support regulatory examinations and audits and manage remediation
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact
- Translate legal and regulatory requirements into documented compliance controls
- Develop and report compliance metrics
