About the Role
You will oversee all legal and regulatory affairs across multiple jurisdictions in Asia Pacific, providing indispensable counsel to regional leadership. You will manage a growing regional team, mitigate complex cross-border risks, and ensure commercial operations scale efficiently within highly diverse regulatory environments.
Requirements
- Professionally qualified lawyer in Singapore or another major common law jurisdiction with exceptional academic credentials
- Minimum of twelve years of experience with significant time spent leading regional matters in-house
- Deep knowledge of the legal and regulatory environments across key APAC markets such as Southeast Asia, Australia and Greater China
- Proven track record of managing distributed legal teams and navigating complex multijurisdictional challenges successfully
- Outstanding commercial acumen with an ability to balance strict legal compliance against fast-paced business growth
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills necessary to bridge regional operations with global headquarters
Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute the regional legal strategy aligned with overarching global business objectives
- Serve as the primary legal advisor to the APAC leadership team on high-stakes commercial ventures and regional expansions
- Oversee corporate governance, regulatory compliance and government relations across all APAC markets
- Guide the regional team through complex multijurisdictional regulatory landscapes including data privacy and financial frameworks
- Manage disputes, employment matters and corporate transactions within the region alongside external counsel
- Recruit, mentor and develop a high-performing team of legal professionals across regional hubs
