About the Role

You will lead end-to-end talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits, payroll, HR compliance, performance management, and office administration. You will build HR systems, manage vendors and facilities, oversee operations staff, and advise senior leadership on workforce and organizational planning.

Requirements

  • Have 10+ years of progressive HR and operations experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Have experience supporting an organization of 50–200 people through growth or organizational change.
  • Demonstrate experience building or improving HR and operations systems.
  • Know U.S. employment law, multi-state compliance, FLSA classification, leave laws, EEO requirements, and pay-transparency obligations.
  • Have experience with payroll, benefits, HRIS, and ATS platforms.
  • Have experience managing office vendors, leases or landlord relationships, and workspace logistics.
  • Demonstrate experience with workplace investigations and sensitive employee-relations matters.
  • Be based in the Washington, DC area and available to work on-site at headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to scope roles, write job descriptions, and build interview processes.
  • Manage recruiting, sourcing, screening, scheduling, reference checks, and offers.
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Select and manage an ATS and recruiting reporting.
  • Manage contractor and fellow engagements.
  • Coordinate work authorization and immigration support.
  • Handle employee questions, concerns, conflicts, and workplace investigations.
  • Coach managers on performance, feedback, accommodations, and difficult conversations.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and administer benefits.
  • Manage compensation, salary bands, benchmarking, and merit cycles.
  • Administer leave programs.
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and required records.
  • Manage HR policies, the employee handbook, HRIS, and performance-management tools.
  • Deliver compliance training.
  • Build performance management, workforce planning, organizational design, and succession-planning processes.
  • Oversee headquarters operations, facilities, vendors, leases, space planning, and emergency preparedness.
  • Advise senior leadership on workforce, real estate, and organizational matters.
