About the Role

You will lead and develop metering employees, oversee safe and efficient metering operations, and provide technical guidance and hands-on training. You will train technicians to troubleshoot meter and communication faults, maintain metering standards and procedures, support O&M and capital budgeting, and help implement software tools. You will conduct field evaluations, document performance, develop technical training materials, and ensure employees follow safety requirements. This is an on-site Monday through Friday role from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Associate degree or completion of a Journeyman Meter Technician apprenticeship
  • At least four years of electric utility metering operations experience
  • At least two years of supervisory experience
  • Technical expertise gained through formal education, professional experience, or both
  • Metering operations and installation experience
  • General computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, leadership, organizational, planning, and data-analysis skills
  • Ability to work in field and office environments in varying weather conditions

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop metering team members
  • Direct, monitor, and evaluate direct-report performance
  • Oversee safe and efficient metering services
  • Train employees to troubleshoot meter malfunctions and communication errors
  • Maintain metering standards, work practices, and procedures
  • Support operations and maintenance and capital budgeting activities
  • Support software specifications, testing, implementation, and training
  • Conduct field evaluations and competency assessments
  • Document employee performance and recommend corrective actions
  • Develop and improve technical training programs
  • Ensure employees receive and follow safety training
