About the Role
You will lead operational readiness, commercial operations, maintenance strategy, safety, compliance, vendor governance, budgets, emergency response, and risk management for power-generation infrastructure. You will build the operating organization, manage O&M counterparties, oversee plant performance, and deliver regular facility reports.
Requirements
- 15+ years in power generation, mission-critical facilities, or heavy industrial operations.
- At least 10 years in progressively senior leadership roles.
- Senior leadership of a greenfield power plant through startup and commercial operation.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary plant organizations with 25 or more direct and indirect reports.
- Experience owning O&M and capital budgets.
- Experience negotiating and managing OEM, maintenance-contractor, and third-party-operator contracts.
- Knowledge of generating equipment, medium-voltage switchgear, protective relaying, and generator paralleling controls.
- Knowledge of NERC compliance, RTO or ISO interfaces, utility interconnection, and environmental compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Ability to work on-site in Mason County, West Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Own site safety culture, compliance, incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Lead the transition from construction and commissioning to operations.
- Own the division-of-responsibilities matrix across O&M providers.
- Manage availability, reliability, power quality, outages, and restoration readiness.
- Govern preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Manage critical spares, consumables, lead times, and inventory interfaces.
- Manage utility and interconnection operational interfaces.
- Govern the CMMS, reliability reporting, and maintenance KPIs.
- Manage O&M vendor performance, service levels, and escalations.
- Manage O&M-provider governance, reporting lines, and coordination cadence.
- Own the operating plan and O&M budget.
- Lead emergency-response planning and drills.
- Build and lead the operations organization.
- Deliver weekly and monthly facility reports.
- Maintain stakeholder relationships.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks.
