About the Role

You will manage and develop commercial lawyers, advise senior stakeholders on commercial and regulatory matters, and oversee complex contract negotiations. You will guide risk-based decisions, resolve escalations, improve legal processes and automation, develop negotiation playbooks, and train commercial colleagues.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of legal experience in-house or at a law firm
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts
  • Knowledge of contract law principles
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing legal professionals
  • Experience advising stakeholders and communicating complex legal concepts
  • Ability to prioritize work and drive processes in a high-volume environment
  • Availability to work from the Singapore office
  • Written and spoken English fluency

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and develop commercial lawyers
  • Provide strategic legal advice to senior stakeholders on contracts, commercial projects, and compliance
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex legal issues and risk-based decisions
  • Drive legal automation and process improvements
  • Advise on contract interpretation, early-stage customer disputes, and commercial matters
  • Create negotiation playbooks and train commercial colleagues
  • Foster collaboration and feedback within the legal function
  • Monitor commercial law and industry regulations and advise on relevant developments
