About the Role
You will set technical direction for database systems that support product and research workloads. You will build multi-cloud storage, data movement, and caching infrastructure; optimize reliability, performance, and cost; and partner with stakeholders to define data requirements and technology choices.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating production database or storage systems
- Knowledge of distributed database architectures and OLTP systems
- SQL proficiency
- Proficiency with a relational or distributed database engine
- Experience leading complex infrastructure projects
- Technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience
Responsibilities
- Drive technical direction for database solutions across product and research
- Design and implement database solutions that support millions of users
- Scale database systems while maintaining reliability and performance
- Architect storage solutions across GCP, AWS, and deployment environments
- Build data migration, backfill, and change-data-capture infrastructure
- Design and operate caching infrastructure and cache invalidation
- Optimize database performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Make build-versus-buy decisions for database technologies
