About the Role
You will design and ship billing capabilities, including pricing primitives, payment flows, contract and entitlement models, and revenue data pipelines. You will own customer-facing interfaces, automate operational workflows, operate SLOs, and partner with Finance, Sales, Product, Accounting, and Legal.
Requirements
- 8+ years building backend or platform systems in production
- 3+ years leading large-scale complex projects or teams as an engineer or tech lead
- Experience shipping correct and maintainable systems in fast-moving environments
- Knowledge of correctness and data integrity for financial systems
- Ability to work across Product, Finance, Sales, and Legal
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience
Responsibilities
- Design and ship billing capabilities end to end
- Build systems for billing correctness, idempotency, reconciliation, and audit trails
- Design billing APIs and revenue data contracts
- Make build-versus-buy decisions for billing, payment, and tax platforms
- Own payments authorization, retry, cost, dispute, and fraud controls
- Automate contract amendments, pricing changes, and billing support workflows
- Operate customer-facing SLOs and instrument the revenue pipeline
- Partner with Product, Finance, Sales, Accounting, and Legal
