About the Role
You will lead research and drafting for the Animal Law Digest and an aquaculture publication. You will analyze legal developments, build stakeholder partnerships, manage research and public-engagement activities, coordinate research assistants and fellows, manage resources, and help develop proposals for new projects.
Requirements
- JD degree
- Admission to a state bar
- At least three years of relevant post-graduate professional experience
- Research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Ability to summarize complex information and meet recurring publication deadlines
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior attorneys and researchers
- Familiarity with animal-related federal and state statutes, case law, and civil procedure
- Project management experience
- Commitment to improving the treatment of animals through the legal system
Responsibilities
- Oversee production of the Animal Law Digest and contribute research and drafting
- Track and analyze federal and state legislation, regulation, and litigation developments
- Build stakeholder partnerships through research, writing, meetings, and communications
- Collaborate with Harvard initiatives
- Generate research, writing, and public-engagement activities on animal, agricultural, food, and environmental law and policy
- Advise and coordinate research assistants and research fellows
- Develop and manage program resources
- Contribute to proposals for new projects
