About the Role
You will architect solid-state transformers end to end, select converter topologies and semiconductor strategies, and lead power electronics, magnetics, and controls engineers through prototype development. You will define MVDC interfaces, manage system trade-offs, create the program roadmap, and develop vendor and research partnerships.
Requirements
- 15+ years of power conversion experience
- Experience leading an SST or MV converter program
- Experience selecting converter topologies, semiconductor strategies, and system trade-offs at MW scale
- Experience leading converter development from architecture through working hardware
- Knowledge of the SiC ecosystem and semiconductor strategy
- Ability to create a 12-month program plan for eight engineers
Responsibilities
- Architect the solid-state transformer end to end
- Select converter topology and semiconductor strategy
- Lead power electronics, magnetics, and controls engineers through hardware development
- Define system trade-offs and interfaces with the MVDC systems team
- Build the program plan and prototype roadmap
- Recommend whether to build internally or partner
