About the Role
You will own commercial contracts from drafting through negotiation and management. You will advise sales, business development, marketing, and product activity; assess legal and regulatory risk; support tokenisation projects; build legal templates and guidance; and manage external counsel.
Requirements
- Qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales or an equivalent common-law jurisdiction with the right to practice in the UK
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience
- In-house experience at a technology, fintech, or financial services business
- Commercial law and technology contract experience
- Knowledge of digital assets, DeFi, Web3, on-chain product structures, yield vaults, token frameworks, SPV and fund-wrapper arrangements
- Ability to support fast-moving sales and marketing teams
- Ability to operate as the sole lawyer and communicate legal complexity clearly
Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements
- Represent R3 in discussions and negotiations with the independent Foundation
- Advise sales, business development, and marketing on commercial matters
- Review product, marketing, and go-to-market collateral for legal and regulatory risk
- Support tokenisation, DeFi, and Web3 projects
- Build legal templates, playbooks, and internal guidance
- Manage external counsel
