About the Role
You will draft and negotiate payment and commercial agreements, advise on payment processing and global money flows, support KYC KYB AML CFT and sanctions compliance, assess licensing and market-entry requirements, monitor regulatory changes, and provide practical legal guidance on payment products and business initiatives.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice law in the US and in good standing.
- At least 5 years of legal experience in fintech banking or payments.
- Expertise in payments and the US and international regulatory landscape.
- Familiarity with money transmission BSA AML PSD2 MiCA and card network rules.
- Ability to provide practical legal advice in a fast-paced business environment.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience drafting reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
Responsibilities
- Draft review and negotiate agreements with payment and financial partners.
- Advise on payment processing payment methods money flows settlement chargebacks refunds and reserves.
- Support KYC KYB AML CFT sanctions screening and customer due diligence processes.
- Assess licensing entity structuring and legal-entity requirements for new markets.
- Advise on legal issues affecting business decisions initiatives and payment strategies.
- Monitor laws and regulations covering payments digital innovation cryptocurrency blockchain NFTs and DeFi.
- Analyze the impact of new and proposed regulations.
- Draft review and negotiate commercial licensing vendor and partnership agreements.
- Work with business and technology teams to develop compliant payment products.
- Identify legal challenges and propose practical solutions.
- Manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
