About the Role
You will own high-throughput payment microservices end to end by designing building deploying scaling and operating Node.js services for orders payments reconciliation virtual accounts and payouts. You will design reliable systems for traceability recovery and failure handling and integrate banking and payment partners across multiple rails. You will maintain CI/CD pipelines operate AWS infrastructure optimize MongoDB and Redis workloads participate in on-call response and lead technical roadmaps. You will also write design documents review code mentor engineers and uphold security and compliance practices for financial data.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Significant experience building backend and distributed systems
- Strong hands-on Node.js expertise with TypeScript preferred
- Deep MongoDB experience including schema design aggregation pipelines indexing and performance tuning
- Proficiency with Redis caching distributed locks rate limiting and pub/sub
- Experience designing and operating microservices architectures
- Experience with REST gRPC event-driven systems service discovery and API contract design
- Hands-on Jenkins experience with pipeline-as-code multi-stage builds and automated test gates
- Working knowledge of AWS including ECS EKS Lambda VPC IAM S3 RDS and CloudWatch
- Understanding of Terraform or CloudFormation is a plus
- Strong knowledge of idempotency eventual consistency retries backoff circuit breaking and failure isolation
- Experience owning a production service or domain end to end including on-call responsibility
- Excellent written communication and ability to explain technical trade-offs
- Fintech payments on-and-offramp or banking infrastructure experience is strongly preferred
- Payment rails card processing banking integrations webhook reconciliation ledger systems KYC AML fraud tooling and regulated environments are preferred
Responsibilities
- Design build deploy and operate Node.js payment microservices
- Create idempotent retry-safe traceable auditable and recoverable transaction systems
- Architect distributed microservices for scale and resilience
- Drive banking and payment-partner integrations across ACH SEPA Faster Payments and wires
- Implement API contracts webhook handling rollout processes and reconciliation logic
- Collaborate on KYC AML and fraud-control touchpoints
- Build and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines with automated testing deployment and rollback strategies
- Operate AWS infrastructure and maintain infrastructure-as-code monitoring alerting and runbooks
- Optimize MongoDB schemas queries indexes and transactional migrations
- Implement Redis caching rate limiting and distributed coordination
- Participate in on-call incident response and postmortems
- Lead technical roadmaps and write design documents and RFCs
- Review code and designs mentor engineers and support hiring
- Protect PII and financial data through security and compliance practices
