About the Role
You will lead Vehicle Safety Operators across Japan operational hubs, coordinate people, vehicles, schedules, and testing priorities, and maintain safe, high-quality operations. You will manage performance, communicate with stakeholders, respond to incidents, maintain reporting, coordinate training, and improve processes.
Requirements
- Fluency in English and Japanese
- Experience as a team coordinator or similar role in fast-moving environments
- Communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
- Disclosure of any second job
- Ability to pass a health check
- Ability to pass training, pre-employment checks, and ongoing drug and alcohol testing
Responsibilities
- Lead and support Vehicle Safety Operators during live testing operations
- Coordinate people, vehicles, schedules, and operational priorities
- Line manage Vehicle Safety Operators and hold monthly documented meetings
- Act as an operational contact for OEM and partner activities
- Enforce safety protocols and legal compliance
- Identify operational issues and escalate risks
- Make real-time operational decisions balancing safety, efficiency, and testing priorities
- Coordinate communication across Fleet Operations and cross-functional teams
- Maintain operational reports, incident documentation, and shift handovers
- Act as the initial Operations Officer for on-road incidents
- Coordinate training and development with Quality Assurance
- Improve operational processes, utilisation, and team effectiveness
