About the Role
You will manage end-to-end procurement for assigned hardware and defense programs. You will translate engineering requirements into supplier actions, source parts and services, evaluate quotes, negotiate commercial terms, place orders, monitor delivery commitments, and resolve supplier issues. You will maintain visibility into purchase orders, lead times, risks, and critical hardware needs.
Requirements
- Degree in engineering, supply chain management, manufacturing, operations management, or a related field
- At least 1 year of experience supporting hardware development at a Series B or earlier VC-backed startup
- Experience in procurement, sourcing, or supplier management for physical hardware
- Experience with technical suppliers in a hardware environment
- Supplier negotiation skills
- Ability to translate technical requirements into supplier actions
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required
- Current authorization to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Own procurement from RFQ through delivery for assigned hardware and defense programs
- Source machined parts, PCBAs, harnesses, test hardware, raw materials, components, and engineering services
- Work with engineers to understand technical requirements, schedules, and supplier needs
- Evaluate suppliers and quotes for cost, lead time, quality, capacity, and risk
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery commitments, and commercial terms
- Drive supplier follow-up and resolve delivery issues
- Maintain visibility into open purchase orders, supplier commitments, lead times, and program risks
