About the Role
You will develop global sourcing strategies for mechanical and electromechanical commodities. You will manage procurement, suppliers, contracts, inventory, capacity, tooling, and sourcing risks. You will assess supplier performance, negotiate agreements, identify value-engineering opportunities, collaborate on production ramp-up, and report sourcing metrics.
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- At least 5 years of global sourcing experience focused on mechanical and electromechanical commodities, motors, harnesses, and contract manufacturing
- Ability to develop sourcing strategies that drive cost savings and improve supplier performance
- Understanding of injection molding, die casting, stamping, CNC machining, and assembly operations
- Experience with motor specifications, harness design requirements, and electromechanical system integration
- Negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
- Communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Data analysis and reporting experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and GD&T
Responsibilities
- Develop global sourcing strategies for mechanical and electromechanical commodities
- Manage procurement, supplier selection, contracting, and price negotiations
- Build and maintain supplier relationships
- Conduct supplier assessments and audits
- Align sourcing decisions with engineering, quality, and manufacturing
- Monitor materials, manufacturing-process, and automation trends
- Develop inventory strategies that optimize cost and minimize risk
- Develop and execute capacity ramp plans
- Apply should-cost frameworks to mechanical commodities
- Implement dual-sourcing strategies for critical components
- Draft and negotiate supplier contracts and tooling agreements
- Monitor supplier delivery, quality, dimensional accuracy, and cost performance
- Identify value-engineering opportunities through design for manufacturing
- Support production ramp-up with contract manufacturing partners
- Manage tooling investments and lifecycle
- Report sourcing and supplier performance to senior leadership
