About the Role

You will own and evolve core backend product systems, beginning with billing, fraud, and pricing. You will design APIs, data models, and product contracts; build reliable systems for accounts, identity, API keys, and model discovery; maintain operational health and on-call coverage; and turn manual workflows into durable systems with cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• 5+ years building reliable production backend systems in Python or TypeScript
• PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, queries, migrations, and performance
• API and data-model design experience
• Ability to ship product and internal surfaces using React, Next.js, and TypeScript
• Systems judgment in source of truth, idempotency, auditability, permissions, and observability
• Product judgment for workflows, edge cases, and customer trust
• Experience working across product, business logic, and infrastructure
• Experience with usage-based billing, metering, or pricing
• Experience with identity and access systems
• Experience with developer platforms, model registries, or usage and observability dashboards
• Experience with generative AI, inference APIs, or developer-facing AI products

Responsibilities

• Own billing and pricing systems, including metering, usage roll-ups, pricing logic, and customer and admin surfaces
• Design APIs, data models, and product contracts
• Own systems for accounts, access, identity, API keys, and model discovery
• Engineer for correctness, resilience, auditability, permissions, observability, and graceful failure
• Own operational health and on-call for the systems you build
• Partner across product, infrastructure, finance, revenue, security, and customer-facing functions
