About the Role
You will own and redesign the billing system end to end. You will build usage metering, charge calculation, invoicing, payment, and reconciliation services; manage the Stripe integration; automate collections and billing workflows; and partner on reporting, audits, observability, testing, and security.
Requirements
- Understand metric collection, metered usage, pay-as-you-go billing, billing cycles, and finance requirements
- Have 5+ years of billing-systems experience and deep Go expertise
- Design REST/RPC APIs, contracts, and versioning
- Use PostgreSQL for schema design, query optimization, migrations, and large-scale data
- Understand authentication, authorization, server-side performance, WebSockets, and SSE
- Have experience with charging logic, collections, billing automation, invoicing, SKUs, and third-party payment platforms
- Communicate effectively with finance
Responsibilities
- Own billing services for usage metering, charge calculation, invoicing, payments, and underlying data models
- Own the Stripe integration for subscriptions, Billing Meters, and enterprise invoicing
- Build automation for failed-payment recovery, collections, proration, credits, refunds, and disputes
- Define billing-data contracts with Core, Platform, and Dashboard engineers
- Partner on reconciliation, revenue reporting, and audit readiness
- Make architectural decisions for observability, testing, and security
