About the Role
You will own the customer journey from lead through onboarding and activation across the Paxos Dashboard and Identity APIs. You will design, build, and operate backend services for identity verification, KYC/KYB, screening, and identity lifecycle management. You will automate compliance review with AI, manage third-party vendor integrations, build privacy capabilities, improve onboarding funnel performance, and contribute technical leadership, mentorship, and on-call support.
Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience building production backend systems, including 1+ year at senior level
- Know Go, Java, or Python, with Go strongly preferred
- Design APIs and data models for sensitive or regulated data
- Focus on conversion, activation, and time-to-value outcomes
- Translate ambiguous requirements from non-engineering stakeholders into technical plans
- Use AI tools daily
- Have experience with identity, KYC/AML, onboarding systems, growth engineering, experimentation, production LLM features, or Persona-like vendors
Responsibilities
- Own the customer journey from lead through onboarding and activation across the Paxos Dashboard and Identity APIs
- Instrument the onboarding funnel, identify friction, and run experiments to reduce time to activation
- Design, build, and operate backend services for KYC/KYB, identity verification, screening, and identity lifecycle management
- Use AI to automate document review, case triage, and risk assessment
- Own integrations with third-party identity and screening vendors, including asynchronous workflows and webhooks
- Build GDPR erasure and PII-handling capabilities into the platform
- Write design documents, lead technical decisions, mentor teammates, and participate in on-call support
