About the Role

You will lead technical direction for space autonomy capabilities across multiple programs. You will develop distributed optimization, tasking, scheduling, track fusion, motion planning, and behavior-management software for satellites and missile defense applications. You will integrate and validate software on real platforms, analyze mission data, research new algorithms, mentor engineers, and support deployment activities.

Requirements

  • 10 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 9 years with a master's degree, or 7 years with a PhD
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems
  • Background in robotics motion planning, behavior modeling, decision-making, or autonomous-system design
  • Experience with unmanned-system technologies and space-domain algorithms
  • Experience with AFSIM or NGTS simulation environments
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Develop distributed optimization for multi-satellite missions
  • Develop task allocation and resource scheduling capabilities
  • Develop weapons target assignment and motion-planning capabilities for space vehicles and interceptors
  • Pioneer optimal control, tactical behavior management, and information-aware planning
  • Develop tested high-performance software modules with clear interfaces
  • Collaborate with perception, planning, simulation, hardware, and flight-test teams
  • Deploy capabilities to space vehicles and analyze mission logs
  • Research, prototype, and roadmap new autonomy algorithms
  • Lead technical direction and mentor engineers
  • Travel to office locations, customer sites, and flight integration events
