About the Role
You will build and optimize real-time 3D perception software for mobile robots. You will own functionality from sensor characterization and design reviews through testing, validation, and fleet deployment. You will also develop automated data workflows, integrate autonomy decisions into vehicle software, and uphold engineering standards through testing, documentation, reviews, and mentoring.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of related or equivalent work experience
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Proficiency in Modern C++ and Python
- Experience with Linux, real-time or low-latency systems, and multithreaded programming
- Experience developing perception or autonomy software for physical robots or autonomous vehicles
- Knowledge of 3D point clouds, filtering, clustering, spatial calibration, and coordinate geometry
- Experience integrating, debugging, validating, and deploying production perception systems using ROS or ROS2 or comparable middleware
- Familiarity with PCL, OpenCV, Docker, and edge-compute environments
- Experience with automated data or machine learning pipelines, intelligent agents, robot learning systems, or automated labeling workflows
- Technical communication, architectural leadership, design-review, documentation, collaboration, and mentoring skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, optimize, and maintain real-time 3D LiDAR and point-cloud perception algorithms using Modern C++ and Python
