About the Role
You will provide legal guidance to product, engineering, design, and business stakeholders on autonomy and AI. You will lead compliance and intellectual-property projects, review integrations and contracts, manage patenting work, create policies and playbooks, monitor legal developments, and assist with mergers and acquisitions.
Requirements
- Experience advising engineering, product, design, security, privacy, and marketing teams throughout the product-development lifecycle
- Experience counseling business partners on domestic and international laws, regulations, and compliance practices
- Ability to advance large, complex projects
- 8+ years of law-firm and/or in-house experience, preferably in technology companies
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in one state bar
Responsibilities
- Advise product, engineering, design, and business teams on autonomy and AI issues
- Lead cross-functional compliance, safety, and intellectual-property projects
- Review product integrations for contractual, data-protection, intellectual-property, and regulatory compliance
- Translate legal advice into actionable guidance for product and engineering teams
- Manage the patenting program and invention-harvesting sessions
- Build policies, processes, guides, and playbooks
- Review customer contracts, inbound contracts, marketing materials, and external-facing documents
- Collaborate with regulators and industry groups on legal and regulatory developments
- Assist with mergers and acquisitions
