About the Role

Oshi is seeking an IP Licensing Manager to lead business development, secure anime licensing partnerships, negotiate deals, manage the sales pipeline, represent the company at industry events, and translate licensing needs into product features.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in Japanese anime and/or manga licensing as a licensor or licensee
  • Strong understanding of licensing processes and design approval procedures
  • Excellent English communication skills; Japanese preferred
  • Interest in internet platforms and emerging technologies such as blockchain
  • Experience with or interest in cutting-edge technologies and digital platforms
  • Familiarity with global anime and manga markets
  • Passion for anime and alignment with fan community interests and trends

Responsibilities

  • Lead global business development to onboard licensees
  • Identify, source, and close licensing partnerships
  • Develop pitches and partnership strategies
  • Navigate complex negotiations and close deals
  • Build and manage the licensee pipeline and sales cycle
  • Enter new strategic markets
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences
  • Translate licensing needs into product features
  • Develop KPIs to measure business development success
  • Hire, train, and manage business development professionals
