About the Role
You will set the engineering quality bar and provide hands-on technical leadership across system design architecture and production operations. You will own technical strategy for card issuing wallets ledgers money movement and integrations while improving reliability security compliance developer velocity and engineering effectiveness. You will coach managers and technical leads and establish clear ownership across functions.
Requirements
- 10+ years building production software
- 4+ years leading engineers
- Recent hands-on production coding or code review experience
- Experience with distributed backend systems data modeling consistency idempotency queues and event-driven design
- Track record of improving engineering quality velocity or reliability
- Experience with pager duty incident command and preventing recurring outages
- Experience in payments fintech banking infrastructure or another regulated financial domain
- Strong hiring and coaching experience
- Clear written communication
- Comfort with ambiguity and fast execution
- Experience with card issuing processing or Visa and Mastercard networks
- Working knowledge of stablecoins onchain settlement custody key management EVM or Solana infrastructure
- Experience with SOC 2 PCI DSS or bank and program-manager oversight
- Experience leading distributed or multi-region teams
Responsibilities
- Set and own engineering standards for system design code review testing observability documentation and technical decisions
- Review critical pull requests and designs prototype high-risk components and debug production issues
- Own architecture and strategy across card issuing wallets ledgers money movement onchain settlement and partner integrations
- Establish SLOs improve incident response plan capacity for 10x growth and design resilient systems
- Build security compliance and correctness into platform design
- Improve CI/CD developer tooling local environments technical debt management and architecture
- Coach engineering managers and technical leads
- Maintain hiring and performance standards and establish clear team ownership
- Partner across Product Design Risk Compliance and go-to-market functions
