About the Role
You will lead people and manage delivery across research engineering. You will own roadmaps, priorities, hiring, resource allocation, career planning, coaching, performance management, team culture, stakeholder communication, risk management, and delivery improvement. You will work with technical leaders and partners across engineering, trading, and quantitative research to deliver new products predictably.
Requirements
- Strong people-leadership skills including coaching, feedback, conflict resolution, and talent development.
- Strong project management skills including roadmap creation, sequencing, dependency management, risk management, and delivery predictability.
- Technical or research background sufficient for credible technical discussions.
- Experience leading, growing, and managing the performance of applied researchers and software engineers.
- Experience delivering applied research through a team while balancing scope, quality, and timelines.
- Sound judgment in hiring and developing talent.
- Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders such as Trading and Quant.
- Based in Amsterdam or willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
- Own roadmaps, priorities, planning, and work sequencing.
- Develop engineers through career planning, coaching, promotions, and performance management.
- Lead hiring, headcount planning, and resource allocation.
- Manage team culture, morale, productivity, and conflict resolution.
- Hold regular one-on-ones and provide clear, timely feedback.
- Translate technical and business requirements into delivery plans.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Trading, and Quant teams to design and launch products.
- Track delivery progress, manage risks and scope trade-offs, and report status.
- Improve delivery processes and team velocity.
- Maintain alignment with organisational goals and delivery timelines.
