About the Role
You will manage product rollouts as Wave launches its business in Malawi. You will represent Wave, oversee distribution and marketing, interact with and recruit users, and conduct interviews with individuals about their needs and concerns related to money transfer and financial services. You will build and train a local agent network, recruit and onboard target users, collaborate with other field officers, ensure agent compliance and quality, monitor cash and float availability, manage risk through routine visits, and support distribution activities including coaching and training distributors.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience, specifically managing an agent network in Malawi, including a minimum of 1 year of experience managing field-based teams
- Proven sales ability with a successful track record in sales, including identifying customer needs and connecting corridors
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and a local language
- Exceptional interpersonal skills in building and maintaining positive relationships
- Willingness to relocate to assigned territories
- Work authorization in Malawi is required
Responsibilities
- Identify and build a local agent network and ensure it is fully trained on applications, contract terms, rebalancing options, and fraud management
- Recruit target users and onboard them on the use of Wave products
- Collaborate with Field Officers in different locations to progress the adoption of Wave products
- Ensure agent quality and compliance with legal and policy requirements
- Ensure all agents are well-branded and well-equipped and monitor cash and float availability at agent locations
- Manage risk through routine visits to report emerging issues and assess agents' performance in your territory
- Identify underperforming agents, close them, recover Wave items and equipment, and ensure branding material is removed
- Serve as the primary contact for all agency networks acquiring Wave products in your territory
- Champion excellent customer service among distributors and agents within your territory
- Coach, train and mentor your team to achieve the desired market impact and targets
- Scout zones where distribution should happen and give guidance on zones for possible distributors
- Encourage and motivate distributors to perform to their fullest potential
- Help with the training and smooth onboarding of new distributors and enforce a good work environment and team-building
- Monitor progress related to distribution activities in the field
