About the Role
Lead Hex's AI context platform and help build a new development lifecycle for context that combines human insight with automated learning and iteration. The role focuses on AI agent behavior, context systems, debugging reasoning failures, managing business context, and integrating context with AI-powered tools and workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams working on complex, data-intensive, AI-driven products, or SaaS platforms
- Ability to identify and design technical abstractions for an ambitious and evolving product vision
- Strong intuition about state-of-the-art AI agent behavior and context systems
- Experience managing managers and scaling high-performing teams
- Experience setting technical standards, hiring and developing talent, and building high-performing engineering environments
- Deeply technical leadership experience with willingness to work hands-on when necessary
Responsibilities
- Lead an organization of multiple teams working on Hex's context platform
- Manage engineering managers, tech leads, and senior individual contributors
- Recruit engineering talent and grow the team to at least 15 software engineers
- Drive technical strategy, review designs, and contribute hands-on when necessary
