About the Role
You will own engineering end to end, including systems, people, and standards. You will set reliability and incident-response standards, lead engineering leaders, support senior hiring, guide AI use in engineering, plan architecture for expansion, and communicate engineering priorities clearly to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Managed an engineering organization of at least 100 people, including managers of managers
- Software engineering background with the ability to read code and evaluate technical arguments
- Accountability for a system where failure involved money, safety, or regulated data
- Experience hiring senior engineering leaders and managing unsuccessful leadership placements
- Clear and persuasive writing for non-engineering audiences
- Demonstrated point of view on AI in engineering
Responsibilities
- Maintain simple, effective engineering processes and designs as the organization grows
- Set standards for uptime, incident response, and safe changes to financial systems
- Lead engineering managers and directors, including hiring and development
- Guide the engineering vision and adoption of AI
- Plan architecture and organizational structure for market expansion
- Communicate engineering work and priorities to technical and non-technical stakeholders
