About the Role
You will own construction delivery outcomes across leased and owned data center sites. You will set portfolio construction strategy, manage delivery risks, negotiate general contractor contracts, oversee schedules and budgets, direct design teams, coordinate site sequencing, and report construction delivery matters to executive leadership. You will also oversee Regional Construction Managers and the Startup and Turnover Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 12+ years of construction management or delivery leadership in mission-critical construction
- Experience with owner's-representative or landlord-managed oversight and/or ground-up development construction as principal
- Proven track record managing large-scale, complex construction programs and budgets of $25M+
- PMP or CCM certification preferred
- Experience with hyperscaler or colocation build programs and/or ground-up data center development preferred
- Experience managing capital partner or joint-venture stakeholder relationships through a development lifecycle is a plus
Responsibilities
- Set portfolio-level construction strategy and own delivery risk across active leased and owned sites
- Manage general contractor and landlord relationship escalations on leased sites
- Negotiate general contractor selection, RFPs, and GMP or lump-sum contracts for owned powered-land sites
- Own tenant fit-out delivery schedules on leased sites
- Own entitlement-to-certificate-of-occupancy schedules and budgets on owned sites
- Represent construction delivery to the VP of Development & Construction
- Oversee Regional Construction Managers and the Startup and Turnover Manager
- Direct architects and engineers on owned-site projects
- Coordinate site development sequencing with Civil Engineering and Energy teams
- Own cost and schedule control interfaces for the Construction Delivery function
