About the Role

You will own the electrical design of generation facilities from generator terminals to the data centre boundary. You will lead power-system studies, equipment engineering, EPC reviews, commissioning support, technical standards, and electrical engineers, consultants, and OEMs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in power generation, heavy industrial, or mission-critical facilities
  • Experience in a lead or owner's engineer role
  • Expertise in medium- and high-voltage power systems
  • Experience specifying and integrating generation equipment and BESS electrical scopes
  • Experience with load flow, short circuit, arc flash, motor starting, and harmonics studies
  • Experience with ETAP, SKM, or equivalent platforms
  • Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, IEC, and hazardous area classification standards
  • Experience with factory testing, construction, and energization
  • Ability to direct OEMs, consultants, and EPC engineering teams
  • Experience building standards, processes, and small teams
  • Willingness to travel regularly
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Own electrical design bases, one-line diagrams, system architecture, voltage selection, redundancy, and expansion provisions
  • Direct and maintain power-system studies and models
  • Resolve island-mode design questions including fault levels, grounding, and equipment duty
  • Engineer auxiliary electrical systems
  • Own equipment specifications, bid evaluations, and vendor drawing reviews
  • Manage OEM technical interfaces, factory acceptance testing, and delivery
  • Embed electrical safety, constructability, and installation quality into designs
  • Review EPC electrical deliverables and approve compliant work
  • Carry electrical scope through design reviews, energization readiness, site queries, and as-built reconciliation
  • Support root cause analysis of electrical and power-quality events
  • Develop engineering standards, specifications, and reference designs
  • Build and lead electrical engineering staff and direct consultants and OEMs
  • Coordinate electrical scope with controls, data centre, fuel gas, mechanical, and civil disciplines
  • Travel to project sites and vendor facilities regularly
