About the Role
You will define controls engineering standards for EPMS and BMS systems across data center projects. You will review designs, lead technical coordination, establish network and cybersecurity standards, oversee construction administration and commissioning, develop a controls team, and advance automation, DCIM, and digital-twin roadmaps.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive controls or instrumentation engineering experience focused on mission-critical or data center facilities
- Experience leading EPMS/BMS design on hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center projects
- Experience as a technical owner or discipline lead on large capital projects
- Experience managing or mentoring engineering staff and systems integrators
- Knowledge of EPMS, BMS, SCADA, DDC controls, alarm management, and controls protocols
- Experience integrating EPMS/BMS with SCADA and DCIM platforms
- Familiarity with OT cybersecurity, network segmentation, NIST, and IEC 62443
- Experience with functional performance testing and controls commissioning
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls/Instrumentation, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Responsibilities
- Develop and own EPMS and BMS design standards, points-list templates, and technical specifications
- Establish controls architecture criteria for monitoring, SCADA, BMS, metering, and safety interfaces
- Define controls network, redundancy, cybersecurity, and IT-integration standards
- Improve automation, remote monitoring, and alarm management
- Evaluate and standardize controls platforms, PLCs, RTUs, sensors, and software
- Review and approve EPMS and BMS design packages
- Oversee points lists, sequences of operation, network diagrams, and alarm matrices
- Lead controls value engineering and vendor selection
- Oversee controls construction administration and commissioning coordination
- Build, mentor, and lead an internal controls engineering team
- Develop roadmaps for AI/HPC-ready controls, DCIM, digital twins, and analytics
