About the Role
You will lead the design, commissioning, operation, and improvement of automation, controls, and electrical systems for a power-generation facility. You will manage engineers, review technical designs, coordinate contractors and vendors, lead commissioning, and improve reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of automation and controls engineering experience
- Industrial power-generation or large-scale critical-power infrastructure experience
- 3+ years leading or managing engineers
- Ability to work on-site at the Southaven power-generation facility
- Ability to perform hands-on work in hazardous and outdoor environments
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to provide 24/7 on-call emergency support
Responsibilities
- Own automation, controls, and electrical scope for power-generation assets
- Lead controls work for balance-of-plant systems and supporting utilities
- Build, mentor, and manage automation and controls engineers and technicians
- Review and approve control philosophies, diagrams, schematics, and panel designs
- Standardize DCS, PLC, and SCADA architecture and engineering practices
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, OEMs, and contractors
- Develop scopes of work and manage contractor work
- Lead field commissioning, testing, start-up, and hand-off
- Drive root-cause investigations and reliability improvements
