About the Role

You will define electrical engineering standards and technical specifications for data center projects. You will lead design reviews, oversee electrical construction administration, guide equipment selection, manage engineering partners, build an internal engineering function, and develop power-distribution strategies for high-density workloads.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience
  • Experience leading electrical design for hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center projects
  • Experience as a technical owner or discipline lead on large capital projects
  • Experience managing or mentoring engineering staff and external consultants
  • Deep knowledge of data center electrical distribution architectures
  • Proficiency in medium-voltage system design
  • Knowledge of UPS systems, battery systems, and transfer switch technologies
  • Experience with diesel generator systems and controls integration
  • Experience with arc-flash analysis, short-circuit studies, load-flow analysis, and power-quality assessments
  • Familiarity with SCADA, EPMS, and BMS integration
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own electrical engineering design standards, basis-of-design documentation, and technical specifications
  • Establish electrical design criteria for critical power-path and backup-power systems
  • Improve power usage effectiveness through efficient electrical system design
  • Lead electrical engineering reviews from site feasibility through commissioning
  • Review and approve electrical design packages for compliance with standards and codes
  • Oversee single-line diagrams, system architectures, and load schedules
  • Lead electrical value engineering efforts
  • Support RFP development, bid evaluation, and electrical vendor selection
  • Oversee electrical construction administration and startup coordination
  • Build, mentor, and lead an internal electrical engineering team
  • Manage external engineers, consultants, manufacturers, and utility contacts
  • Coordinate electrical requirements with mechanical engineering and commissioning
  • Present design strategies and investment recommendations to leadership, customers, and investors
  • Develop high-density power-distribution strategies for AI and HPC workloads
  • Develop a battery energy storage system integration roadmap
  • Monitor evolving electrical codes, standards, and utility interconnection requirements
