About the Role

You will own electrical design standards and reference architectures for new data-centre builds, expansions, and colocation opportunities. You will lead design reviews, technical diligence, consultant management, procurement support, and an electrical engineering team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer license
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities, including data-centre design
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership experience
  • Knowledge of MV/LV distribution, switchgear, protection, UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS strategy, grounding, bonding, and commissioning
  • Experience with United States engineering firms, authorities having jurisdiction, and state and local code variations

Responsibilities

  • Lead concept, schematic, and detailed electrical design reviews
  • Establish and maintain electrical design standards and reference architectures
  • Support procurement, submittals, RFIs, field changes, and construction issue resolution
  • Review short-circuit and arc-flash studies
  • Select and manage architecture and engineering consultants
  • Partner with construction, commissioning, operations, procurement, product, and platform stakeholders
  • Build, lead, mentor, and manage an engineering team
  • Lead electrical due diligence for colocation sites
  • Define and negotiate electrical lease exhibits and technical schedules
  • Lead electrical due diligence for greenfield and brownfield acquisitions
