About the Role
You negotiate and manage high volumes of pre-M&A contracts, liaise with counterparties, advise sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients, maintain client playbooks, mentor junior lawyers and paralegals, and improve legal technology using AI-backed tools.
Requirements
- 6-8+ years of post-law-school corporate or transactional experience
- Track record of independently negotiating pre-M&A contracts
- Experience with asset managers, investment banks, or financial services firms
- Law degree
- License to practice law in the Americas
- Experience with legal technology such as AI tools and HighQ
Responsibilities
- Negotiate and manage high volumes of pre-M&A contracts
- Liaise directly with counterparties
- Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact
- Build trusted advisor relationships with investment funds and asset managers
- Maintain and update client playbooks
- Collaborate with and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals
- Review junior lawyers’ and paralegals’ work
- Improve Carta’s legal technology suite
