About the Role
You will act as the primary commercial contracts attorney, drafting and negotiating agreements that support research, clinical, and operational work. You will lead implementation and administration of the contract lifecycle management platform, advise on contract risks and compliance, build contracting tools, use AI tools appropriately, manage outside counsel, and train internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- J.D. and active membership in good standing of a U.S. state bar
- 5+ years of commercial contracting experience at a law firm or in-house at a biotech, pharma, or CRO
- Experience independently negotiating CRO, clinical, and SaaS agreements
- Experience implementing or administering a contract lifecycle management platform
- Working knowledge of healthcare compliance and data privacy laws for clinical contracting
- Drafting and negotiation skills
- Experience with Ironclad preferred
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements
- Lead clinical contracting for CROs, clinical-trial sites, and clinical vendors
- Advise on risk terms and healthcare-compliance and data-privacy requirements
- Lead implementation and administration of the contract lifecycle management platform
- Build contract templates, playbooks, and self-service tools
- Coordinate with IP counsel on IP provisions
- Use AI tools for drafting, review, and contract-data extraction
- Manage outside counsel on commercial matters
- Train internal teams on contracting processes
