About the Role
You will work on live commercial deals, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer, partnership, vendor, and data-processing agreements. You will advise sales on practical deal questions, help improve contract templates and legal tools, learn the technical details of generative AI products, and track relevant legal and policy developments.
Requirements
- J.D. and admission in good standing with at least one state bar, or plans to sit for the bar before the fellowship begins
- 0–3 years of legal experience
- Strong academic record
- Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
- Clear and practical communication with non-lawyers
- Operational mindset
- Comfort working in a highly technical and rapidly evolving legal area
- Excitement about generative AI
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including B2B SaaS customer contracts, API agreements, DPAs, partnership agreements, and vendor agreements
- Partner with sales to provide practical answers that help close deals
- Scale and automate commercial processes and tools, including templates, playbooks, contract-review automation, and the legal technology stack
- Learn the technical details of generative AI products
- Research and track generative AI technical, legal, and policy developments
- Contribute to privacy, intellectual property, product counseling, or compliance projects as appropriate
