About the Role
You will track Congressional developments, plan around key legislative calendar items, brief Congressional offices, build relationships with staff and elected officials, develop legislative proposals, and advocate for policy recommendations across government, media, and nonprofit audiences.
Requirements
- Familiarity with AI national security risks, including loss of control, recursive self-improvement, catastrophic misuse, and rapid AI capability growth
- At least 5 years of effective policy advocacy across stakeholders
- Oral briefing and meeting management
- Understanding of DC policy processes, communities, and mechanisms
- Relevant DC, national media, or nonprofit contacts
Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Policy as an expert on Congressional activity
- Track Capitol Hill developments and plan for key Congressional calendar items
- Brief Congressional offices and deepen relationships with staff and elected officials
- Develop floor-ready legislative proposals
- Advocate for policy recommendations with government, media, and nonprofit audiences
